Kingwood Park senior setter/right side hitter Andie Unwin was named the District 20-5A Most Valuable Player last week following the Panthers’ Class 5A volleyball championship title.

Basketball season began in earnest when the Kingwood girls’ basketball team opened District 22-6A play at home with Atascocita. The Lady Mustangs fell 68-25 to a powerful Lady Eagles squad.

For the fourth straight season, the Atascocita Eagles football team entered the regional semifinals, which earned them a matchup with Cy-Fair Saturday at NRG Stadium.

On Oct. 26, Atascocita and Summer Creek played a classic 22-6A matchup at Turner Stadium, a game that was decided by a point – and a kick.

Atascocita won the game, and the district, but since then, neither team has lost and both teams are now off to the regional semifinals.

The Eagles return to the regional semifinals for the fourth year in a row with their patented high-powered offense, which has been on full display in their two playoff wins.

Twenty-four Humble ISD athletes and their families and friends were all smiles on Signing Day, Nov. 14. The students all attended the event held at the Charles Bender Performing Arts Center in Humble to sign letters of intent to participate in college athletics.
