After winning two games Saturday, July 3, the Kingwood/Forest Cove 14-year-old Pony League All-Stars became the newly crowned 2010 District II Southern Zone champions. In the first game of the double-header, Kingwood trampled the Conroe All-Stars 16-0. Micah Edwards pitched a complete game shutout and was backed by a 15-hit attack led by Cameron Perez who hit a homerun and went 4-for-4. Ches Foster also went 4-for-4 and Monty Maley added 3 hits in 4 at bats. In the championship game, Kingwood played the Highlands All-Stars and again got stellar pitching. Monty Maley hurled a complete game shutout and Kingwood used the long-ball to win the championship 10-0. David Falkner, Cameron Perez and Ian Sikes all hit homeruns for Kingwood. As District II champions, the Kingwood All-Stars advance next to the Southern Zone Regional Tournament at Kyle Chapman Field in Houston July 16.
